A celebration of life for Darrell Lynn Bales, 50, of Reklaw, will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in the chapel at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Rev. Joel McMahon officiating.
He was born December 30, 1959 in Dallas, Texas to Sam B., Jr. and Patricia Tait Bales and died March 6, 2010. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Samuel B. and Carrie Styles Bales and Grady A. and Edith Baker Tait.
Darrell was a graduate of Rusk High School. He was a communications technician for many years traveling throughout the United States, later becoming a long haul truck driver. Darrell was a longtime member of Reklaw United Methodist Church. His joy was riding his Harley.
Survivors include son Dakota Storm Bales of Houston; parents Sam and Pat Bales of Reklaw; one brother Russell Bales and wife Tammy of Rusk; two sisters Sheryl McLeroy and husband Tony of Jacksonville and Samantha Byrd of Reklaw. Also several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by these and many, many friends.
Pallbearers will include Russell Bales, Tony McLeroy, Jamie Mason, Keith Byrd, Clay Suggs, Dannie Cook and Mark Halsey.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Interment will be at Walker’s Chapel Cemetery.
