Funeral services for Reba Nell Bearden, age 83, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 2:00 pmWednesday, February 24, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville with Dr. Edwin Crank officiating.
A Private interment will be at Still Waters Memorial Gardens, Jacksonville.
Ruby Nell was born August 9, 1926 in Wichita Falls, TX to Cora Mae and Roy Lee Prather. She graduated from Roaring Springs High School and later earned her Registered Nursing degree from TCU. She worked in the nursing field for forty years with a break for raising her family. Mrs. Bearden was a longtime member in First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, TX. She enjoyed painting, writing, reading and loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Deborah Lynn Najjar, twin sister, Dell Blackmon, sister, Pearl Davis, brothers, Jack and Dick Prather.
Mrs. Bearden is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd Bearden of Jacksonville, sons Leslie Bearden and wife Terri of Jacksonville, Frank Bearden and wife Tammy of Henderson, daughter and son-in law Beckie Brown and husband David of Dallas, grandchildren Jennifer Brashear and husband Rick of Jacksonville, Lindsey Whittmore and Bryan of Gresham, Tara Sexton and husband T.J. of Jacksonville, Susan Whiteley and husband Jamie of Jacksonville, Nikki Gillispie and Blade Gillispie both of Henderson; and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Nida Sanders of Lubbock, brother-in-law Bill Blackmon of Ft Worth, sister-in-law Jean Bearden of Jacksonville, son-in-law Nemat Najjar of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are: Eddie Bearden, Gene Bearden, Rick Brashear, Bryan Whittmore, T.J. Sexton, Adam Brashear and Jamie Whiteley.
Family visitation: 5 to 7 pm at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville Tuesday, February 23, 2010.
